Story Circle:
Read a brief, age-appropriate biography of a Jewish American hero, such as Sandy Koufax, the famous baseball player, or Jonas Salk, who helped create the polio vaccine.
Hero Star Craft:
Give each child a star template, and have them decorate it with their favorite colors. Write "Hero" on the star and discuss how everyone can be a hero by helping others.
